Walnut House

Project: Walnut House

Type: Residential

Location: Monterrey, Mexico

Areas: 1,200 sq. m.

Located on a site facing the Cerro de La Silla but with a considerable slope, the architectural program is resolved in two volumes that adapt to the topography and are connected by a bridge. All the spaces of the house have mountain views and share roofed terraces that respond to the local climate, creating a positive tension between the house and the context.

The landscaping incorporates solar cells and a curation of Mexican art including sculptures and murals. A basic palette of materials was used; apparent concrete on the façade, steel pergolas and Ladesa on the bridge. The floors are marble, wood and ecological wood decking on the terraces.
